The break
General July 6th. 2008, 12:24pmI managed to over-work myself and lost motivation to complete much on the project. And therefore i tooka 2 week break from development on the new system. I shall start work on it again today.
Also to those sites which were down for ‘SQL problems’ don’t worry - they were just badly constructed queries which i wrote in mysql 4, with the server upgrade it created problems. I therefore have rewritten some of the queries and if there are any problems still - give me a shout.
As for me now. I best get cracking if i ever want to finish this.

a few questions,
1) How much is this all going to cost in the end, i thought this would be a free soloution, is it going to be alot of money?
2) Is the join application going to be linked to the site registration and is that in turn going to be linked to the roster and forum?
3) Is it going to be possible to create your own pages like in nuke you can create content pages wherever and will there be an option to reorganise and rename the links.
4)I would love to get this CMS but cost could be a deciding factor, most squads cant afford to pay out these days as donations are on the low. and there are so many free CCMS’ like nuke, e107, CCMS (to name a few).

Man i am dying for this to launch, there is only 2 other rival projects in my mind, openci, which is way to expensive and clan-cms, which is really expensive with bad support.
The owner has just upped and gone with peoples money.

Hey there flame. Sorry I’ve taken a short while replying to you here.Anyway the answer to your questions:
1) It’s going to be a cheap solution, a couple of pounds a month (nothing too expensive, we understand that often clans cannott pay out) - exact price is undetermined.
2) You will be able to manage your own site members (sites are not interlinked) through your admin control panel. As in you can edit member profiles, change their teams and show them on your rosters.And yes the forums are also integrated with this.
3) You can create custom pages and custom blocks (ie the things that run down either side of the site typically). You can reorder navigation and categorise links if necessary.
4) I understand what you are saying thats why we intend to keep the price to a miminum.

thanks for your response, im hoping it is going to be around the £3 a month mark, have you thought about offering packages?
also any ideas on a time frame when we can see V2
and finally are you interested in any help on this project again, i have experience working in support and development departments with CMS systems.
If not will you have the official beta testers option available?

Hey thanks for your enquiry. It has actually motivated me to look into the project again. Thanks also for your offer to lend a hand but as of now we need to organise ourselves before thinking of expansion etc. Your offer is however greatly appreciated.

Hopefully you guys will be able to keep on task, I know how hard it is to develop a CMS from scratch, as I’ve done it myself. Anyways, the offer still stands, so should you need any help once you get back on your feet with the project, just hit me up
